Our Commitment to Food & Shelter

Sri Neelakandeswarar Trust, declared on 14th August 2023 by B. Omkumar at No. 527 Main Road, Neikuppai, Thiruvidaimaruthur T.K., Thanjavur District – 609807, is committed to arranging for the provision of food, cloth, and shelter — either free or at nominal rates — to the needy, without any profit motive. As explicitly stated in the Trust Deed (Document No. R/Kuthalam/Book-4/16/2023), this is a core objective of the Trust, carried out without any discrimination of sex, caste, creed, or religion.

The Trust is a registered irrevocable Public Charitable Trust (PAN: ABHTS5819F), and its beneficiaries are not restricted to any particular religion, sex, or community. Our food and shelter programs serve all those in need across Thiruvidaimaruthur and the wider Thanjavur District.

Food & Shelter Objectives (As Per Trust Deed)

The following objectives are directly outlined in the Trust Deed registered at the Sub-Registrar Office, Kuthalam:

• To arrange for the provision of food, cloth, and shelter — either free or at nominal rates — but without any profit motive, to the needy without any discrimination of sex, caste, creed, or religion.
• To promote the social, moral, ethical, cultural, civil, patriotic, and physical welfare of the people in the community.
• To aid, assist, and maintain places of public utilities and to protect the environment for the welfare of all.
• To take or receive any gift — whether money, movable or immovable property — or donations in any form and to secure contributions to the Trust funds for carrying out welfare objectives.
• To contribute to or give aid to any Trust, Institution, or Body with similar welfare objects, and join with similar service organizations.
• To do or cause to be done any acts conducive to the overall welfare of vulnerable families and communities in Thiruvidaimaruthur and Thanjavur District.

How We Help

The Board of Trustees of Sri Neelakandeswarar Trust, as empowered under the Trust Deed, carries out the following activities to fulfill the food and shelter objectives:

• Free Food Distribution — Providing meals free of cost to the needy, the elderly, and vulnerable families without any distinction of caste, creed, or religion.
• Cloth Distribution — Supplying clothing essentials to underprivileged individuals and families at no cost or at nominal rates.
• Shelter Support — Assisting homeless and destitute individuals with shelter arrangements, either free or at nominal rates.
• Community Welfare Programs — Organizing welfare activities for the moral, cultural, and physical upliftment of the people of Neikuppai, Thiruvidaimaruthur, and surrounding areas.
• Public Utilities Maintenance — Maintaining public places, gardens, and utilities to promote a clean and healthy environment for the community.

Board of Trustees

The Trust is administered by a Board of three Trustees. The Managing Trustee also serves as Chairman of the Board and holds the casting vote. The Board is reconstituted every two years.

Your generous contributions directly fund food distribution, clothing aid, shelter support, and community welfare programs for vulnerable families in Thiruvidaimaruthur and Thanjavur District. The Trust accepts donations in any form — money, movable, or immovable property — without any restriction on the donor's religion, caste, or community.
