Our Commitment to Differently-Abled Persons

Sri Neelakandeswarar Trust, declared on 14th August 2023 by B. Omkumar at No. 527 Main Road, Neikuppai, Thiruvidaimaruthur T.K., Thanjavur District – 609807, is committed to aiding and assisting differently-abled and disabled persons in the community. As explicitly stated in the Trust Deed (Document No. R/Kuthalam/Book-4/16/2023), one of the core objectives of this Trust is to promote the social welfare, intellectual advancement, and upliftment of education for disabled and differently-abled persons — without any discrimination of sex, caste, creed, or religion.

The Trust is a registered irrevocable Public Charitable Trust (PAN: ABHTS5819F), and its beneficiaries are not restricted to any particular religion, sex, or community. Our disability aid programs are open to everyone in need across Thiruvidaimaruthur and Thanjavur District.

Disability Aid Objectives (As Per Trust Deed)

The following objectives are directly outlined in the Trust Deed registered at the Sub-Registrar Office, Kuthalam:

  • To aid, assist, and support differently-abled and disabled persons in the community for their overall welfare.
  • To promote social welfare, intellectual advancement, and educational upliftment of disabled persons.
  • To provide food, cloth, and shelter — either free or at nominal rates — to the needy, including disabled persons, without any profit motive and without discrimination of sex, caste, creed, or religion.
  • To provide assistance for education, training, and self-employment opportunities to disabled and differently-abled persons.
  • To make pecuniary grants by way of scholarships, donations, and awards for the benefit of disabled students and scholars.
  • To establish, takeover, maintain, run, subsidize, help, and make donations to educational and vocational institutions serving differently-abled persons.
  • To do or cause to be done any acts conducive to the social, moral, ethical, cultural, civil, patriotic, or physical welfare of differently-abled people.
  • To contribute to or give aid to any Trust, Institution, or Body which has similar objects, and join with similar service organizations in fulfillment of the above objects.

Powers of the Board to Support Disability Aid

As per the Trust Deed, the Board of Trustees is empowered to:

  • Accept donations, voluntary contributions, and any other kind of help for the benefit and promotion of disability aid objectives.
  • Engage or remove managers, secretaries, accountants, and support staff to run disability aid programs.
  • Invest and manage Trust funds not immediately required for the object of the Trust.
  • Make and prescribe additional Rules, Bye Laws, and Regulations to carry out the disability aid objectives.
